AfCFTA: Intra-African Trade Fair Holds in Lagos Next Month

…….by Victor Egbo…….

Nigeria is set to host AfCFTA in an intra-Africa Trade Fair billed for Lagos next month as an efforts to position Nigeria for the purpose of harnessing opportunities under AfCFTA through a very high networth roadshow which holds October 11 at Eko Hotels.

The roadshow which is a fore-runner to the 2023 IATF which holds in Cairo Egypt from November 9 to 15, promises to have all the necessary knowledge information, network potentialities and business opportunities associated with result-oriented economic events.

The event which is part of the programmes lined up by the organisers, Afreximbank, to grow the participation and engagement by notable investors and policy makers in Nigeria to seize the initiative for the on-going African Economic Integration efforts.

Top Nigerian government officials, business operators and other experts in the investment space will have an opportunity to have direct and unbriddled engagement with the Executive Vice President, Afreximbank, Mrs Kanayo Awani, who leads the team to Nigeria.

The event which starts by 8am will be a pot-pouri of various engagements which will not only offer first hand information on the 2023 IATF, but creates obvious privilege for smooth participation.

Expectations are high that this year’s roadshow will attract more gathering and participation as awareness on Intra-African Trade continues to gain more traction among African economies as the global economy begins to, more than ever before, brace the growing spate of regionalism.

The 2023IATF is the third in the series of the development which tries to create a new investment order for African investors . The maiden edition in Cairo in 2018 was an eye-opener, while the second in 2021 in Durban, South Africa was more impressive, both in attendance, investment deal and new opportunities.

There are strong indications that the Monday event will be well attended . It’s the first major economic event that would be held in Nigeria since the inauguration of the new government in the country. It is on record that Afreximbank has extended hands of fellowship to the new administration which clocked 100 days last week.
