Lagos, March 18, 2025 – Xenergi Limited has strongly denied allegations linking the company to a land dispute between Axxela Limited and host communities in Delta State. The company issued a statement on Tuesday in response to media reports that suggested its involvement in the controversy.
In the statement, Xenergi dismissed claims that it was attempting to “monopolize gas supply in the region, using Emu Ebendo as a proxy in what is essentially a trade war.” The company described the allegations as unfounded, maintaining that it has always operated as a focused commercial entity with no affiliations to any of the communities involved in the dispute.
“Up till this moment, we have maintained years of healthy and peaceful coexistence with our host communities, leading to optimized field operations with minimal social or security disruptions,” the statement read.
Xenergi emphasized that its land acquisition processes adhere strictly to legal and regulatory frameworks, with full participation and consent from stakeholders. The company highlighted its commitment to structured Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models and collaborative community engagements aimed at driving economic growth, infrastructure development, and sustainable progress in Delta State.
The company also urged for peaceful resolutions through dialogue and legal channels, stating that such disputes should be handled with mutual respect and institutional processes.
“We call on all relevant authorities and stakeholders to intervene and restore peace, mutual trust, and stability in our host communities,” Xenergi said, while reaffirming its dedication to ethical business practices, sustainable development, and community empowerment.
Xenergi further appealed to all parties involved to refrain from altercations and disruptive actions, stressing that the future of Delta State relies on transparent, fair, and sustainable development principles.
