The Sub-Saharan Africa International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (SAIPEC), organized by the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN), is set to hold its 9th edition from February 11-13, 2025, at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos. The event, strategically partnered with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), will bring together over 6,000 stakeholders, including representatives from national and international oil companies, regulators, service providers, and government bodies spanning more than 50 countries.
“SAIPEC 2025 stands as a testament to our commitment to driving Africa’s energy transformation, creating sustainable growth, and fostering inclusive partnerships across the continent,” said Mr. Ibe Chubby Ibe, PETAN/SAIPEC Conference Chair. “This year’s program is our most ambitious yet, showcasing innovative strategies, regional collaborations, and groundbreaking advancements in Africa’s oil and gas sector.”

The conference will highlight multi-billion-dollar project opportunities across Africa and focus on advancing the continent’s energy, oil, and gas ambitions. With local content as a foundational theme, SAIPEC’s African Content Series, hosted by the NCDMB for the fifth consecutive year, will explore strategies for inclusive growth. Panels will tackle pivotal topics such as African gas strategies, financing, and Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion initiatives, underscoring the importance of sustainable development in the energy landscape.
Key highlights include the SAIPEC Future Generations Conference, aimed at inspiring the next wave of African energy leaders, and the prestigious SAIPEC Awards, which celebrate leading innovations in the sector. The event will also feature an international exhibition showcasing cutting-edge technologies in drilling, exploration, digital advancements, and sustainability, with opportunities for attendees to engage directly with global suppliers and service providers.
Networking remains central to SAIPEC’s agenda, offering tailored sessions to foster partnerships, exclusive receptions, and a closing golf event hosted by PETAN. “This platform creates unparalleled opportunities for collaboration and the exchange of ideas, crucial for shaping Africa’s energy future,” said Mr. Ibe.
SAIPEC 2025 also marks a milestone for PETAN as it celebrates its 30th anniversary of leadership in Africa’s oil and gas sector. Reflecting on this achievement, Mr. Ibe noted, “PETAN’s legacy is one of resilience, innovation, and dedication to the growth of Africa’s energy industry. SAIPEC embodies that spirit, and we’re proud to host this event as we celebrate three decades of progress.”
