The Managing Director of Mainland Oil Dr. Chris lgwe, has underscored the company’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s energy sector at this year’s African Oil Trading Logistics (OTL) conference. He said that Mainland oil is a long-time sponsor and participant in the annual OTL event. He explained that at this year’s event the company aims to expand energy access across Nigeria.
Speaking to Energy Editors on the sideline of the ongoing Africa OTL , Igwe emphasized that OTL has been a valuable platform for exchanging knowledge and ideas in oil and gas. “I have been a regular supporter of OTL…this is a made-in-Nigeria oil and gas trading conference, where oil and gas trading across Nigeria and Africa is discussed. It is very educative, and through OTL, the downstream sector has been supported,” he said.
According to him, Mainland Oil’s network is extensive, with over 54 retail outlets nationwide. Adding that the company is committed to expanding further, particularly in underserved regions. “Our aim is to provide energy to all the nooks and crannies of this country, and we are doing that,” Igwe affirmed.
He maintained that in addition to distributing premium products like PMS, AGO, and DPK, Mainland Oil offers environmentally conscious solutions like Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), with new retail outlets designed as one-stop energy centers. “All our new retail outlets [feature] CNG…we are marketing it, making energy affordable and available,” he noted, emphasizing that energy accessibility impacts the overall cost of living, including food prices.
The Mainland Oil boss also highlighted its extensive distribution network and robust infrastructure. “Apart from selling through our many retail outlets, we equally supply to other independent marketers across the nation,” he explained, adding that the company will leverage the upcoming Dangote refinery to further enhance supply in the Southwest region.
With the OTL conference as a backdrop, the Mainland Oil Managing Director, reaffirmed the company’s mission to support energy security across Nigeria, blending traditional fuel sources with emerging CNG infrastructure. This approach, he believe, will contribute positively to Nigeria’s energy future.
