NNPCL Clarifies Sales Status of Products from PHRC, Urges Public to Ignore Misleading Price Information

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL)  has issued a statement clarifying that it has not yet begun bulk sales of its products or opened its purchase portal for Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC). NNPCL  assured the public that essential processes are still being finalized before these operations can commence.

In an official release, NNPCL explained that all products currently available for sale are sourced from the Dangote Refinery. These products are sold through their retail outlets, and the necessary NMDPRA (Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority) fees are included in the pricing.

“We are still in the process of finalizing the required steps before we can begin bulk sales,” said NNPCL’s  spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye. “At this stage, all products from PHRC are exclusively for our retail stores. We are committed to periodically reviewing and adjusting prices to reflect operational realities.”

NNPCL also cautioned the public to disregard any misleading claims or rumors regarding pricing. The company emphasized that official announcements will be made if and when any price reviews occur.

“We understand there is a great deal of speculation in the market, but we urge consumers to rely on official statements from NNPCL for accurate information,” Soneye said. “Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we finalize these important processes.”

The public has been advised to be cautious of unofficial sources of information, as any changes to product pricing will be communicated through proper channels. NNPCL’s emphasis on ensuring the integrity of its operations underlines its commitment to transparency and the satisfaction of its customers.
