Heritage Oil Procurement Manager Denies Allegations by Indigenous Contractors

The Manager, Procurement and Contract, Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited, Mr. Claude Kanayo Esekody, has denied the allegations of unethical and professional misconduct levelled against him by a group of aggrieved indigenous contractors of OML 30 in Delta State.

Esekody, who described the contractors as nonexistent in the contractors list of the oil firm, noted that the allegations were meant to tarnish his hard-earned reputation and professional career of several decades.

The aggrieved contractors had in a statement on February 6, 2021 accused Esekody of reportedly frustrating activities of local contractors especially those of host communities in OML 30 thereby causing unrest in the area.

The said contractors subsequently demanded for the sack of Mr Esekody as procurement manager. Meanwhile, Esekody has denied the allegations by the local contractors.

However, Mr. Esekody in a letter through his lawyer, Mr. Raymond Okorefe, denied all the allegations, stressing that the allegations by the said contractors have no iota of truth.

Esekody maintained that Chief Matthew Agbefe, who signed the letter on behalf of the aggrieved indigenous contractors, remains faceless and only exists in the spirit realm as one of Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited’s indigenous contractors.

The lawyer said apparently some the publications against him were sponsored by mischief makers who are bent at ensuring that due process is jettisoned with respect to the award of contracts in Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited, does not possess an iota of fact and its sole aim is to malign the person of our client as well as to tarnish his image and reputation before reasonable and respectful members of the public, an image and reputation our client verily built for decades.

“Our client is a respected professional and has spent so many years building a positive reputation. Nevertheless, you, your online media platform and faceless sponsors have resorted to cheap blackmail by maliciously spreading inaccurate and unfounded information that is damaging to our client’s personal and professional character.”
