NNPC Dismisses Report on Shutdown of Port Harcourt Refinery

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has dismissed media reports claiming the Old Port Harcourt Refinery was shut down.

In a statement issued, the company clarified that the refinery, which was re-streamed two months ago, is fully operational. “The refinery is running smoothly, as confirmed by former Group Managing Directors of NNPC just days ago,” the statement said. NNPC added that preparations for the day’s loading operations are in progress.

The company urged the public to disregard the false claims, attributing them to those seeking to create artificial scarcity and exploit Nigerians.
