The 2nd Namibia Oil and Gas Conference set a promising tone for the future of the country’s energy sector at its opening today by emphasising skills development and capacity building. The pre-summit masterclasses, held on August 20 provided a focused and impactful platform for professionals to enhance their expertise and contribute to the sector’s growth.
Speakers included Victoria Sibeya, Executive: Exploration, NAMCOR, Anneri Lück, Tax Associate Director, PwC, Arthur Ename, Vice President – Africa, NOV, France and Dr Eino Mvula, Chief Executive Officer, Namibian Standards Institute.

The sessions also featured a special masterclass hosted by the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB), moderated by Hafeni Motsi, Senior Energy Investment Analyst and Ndapewa Hangula, Senior Manager of Public Investment and Local Content.

The session focused on building long-term and sustainable partnerships in Namibia’s energy sector. Key topics included the processes involved in developing these partnerships, with a deep dive into Namibia’s policy, legal, and fiscal frameworks, regulations and local content strategies.
